Phil Froehlich is a security, risk management, and marketing professional. He has pioneered professional service to the industry for over twenty years and promoted a collaborative, long-term, trust-based approach to security and marketing well before relationship marketing was popularized. As a practitioner in the Insurance and Pharmaceutical industries, he led systems and application security implementation and re-engineering initiatives that demanded close cooperation with line-of-business management. As a consultant and educator, Mr. Froehlich advised Fortune 500 organizations and government agencies worldwide, along with lecturing extensively, writing on security issues and training hundreds of business, technology, sales, and marketing professionals. He was an early promoter of active monitoring of system configuration as a means to minimize vulnerabilities and achieve greater security. As Editor-in-Chief, he more than doubled the content and distribution of “Security & Audit News”, converting it from a vendor newsletter into a recognized forum for technical information and commentary.
Mr. Froehlich also served as product and brand manager for the dominant mainframe security and audit software, where he supported and worked closely with end-user groups, prioritizing their needs and ensuring that they were tightly aligned with product development deliverables. He successfully helped reshape the role of enterprise security solutions to meet the growing demands of internet-based computing. In 2003, Mr. Froehlich founded a private consultancy to help bring new and emerging, innovative security products to market.
Mr. Froehlich continually strives to improve security and risk management awareness and practices through service to industry trade groups and law enforcement. A past member and project officer of organizations including OURS, GUIDE, and SHARE, he is currently an active member of the US Secret Service NY/NJ Electronic Crimes Task Force and has assisted his local Prosecutor’s Office cybercrimes unit. He was instrumental in growing the FBI InfraGard public/private partnership program in NY, where he has served as Acting President and currently serves as Secretary of the Board, to over 1000 members, and additionally serves on several InfraGard National committees. Mr. Froehlich was a founder of IGtv, a worldwide broadcast outreach initiative that received national attention with the 2012 InfraGard Community Outreach award. In addition, he developed a sustaining sponsorship revenue/participation program that was used as a national model. Mr. Froehlich was recognized in 2007 by FBI Director Mueller for Exceptional Service in the Public Interest.
Mr. Froehlich also has extensive experience in the field of emergency medical services. He initiated and led in-house EMS capabilities at several employer sites, resulting in significant time savings in the delivery of life-saving care. He currently participates actively on a metropolitan EMS unit where he has served in a variety of positions including tactical unit leader and Training and Safety Director. He was awarded the 2006 Chamber of Commerce Award for his leadership and innovations in the community.
Mr. Froehlich earned his Bachelor of Arts degree at Monmouth University and has taken graduate courses at the New York Institute of Technology. He is a graduate of the FBI Citizens Academy, NY Division.
