Joseph R. Concannon, President, brings his leadership, program management skills and endless energy to the helm of Integris Security.
Mr. Concannon is also President Emeritus of the InfraGard NY Metro Members Alliance, an FBI partnership initiative bridging the gap between the public and private sectors, which he led for twelve years. His vision and relentless pursuit of excellence pushed the NYC Alliance into the national spotlight, helping the FBI to expand its national membership and providing a road map for other alliances around the nation to establish similar programs. At the helm of NY Metro InfraGard, Mr. Concannon developed and produced leading edge educational programs, including: monthly security summits; IGtv, a security and risk management broadcast channel; trusted partner conference calls; on-demand Internet-based distance learning; and the InfraGard Learning Series. Under his watch, the NYC Alliance provided education and professional development to over 5,000 security professionals hailing from over a dozen different industry verticals.
Mr. Concannon was awarded the prestigious InfraGard National Linda Franklin Memorial Leadership Award and led the NYC Alliance when it received the 2012 InfraGard Community Outreach award.
Prior to InfraGard, Mr. Concannon had a distinguished 25-year law enforcement career with the NYPD. There, he successfully met challenges ranging from planning city-wide emergency management protocols and operations to directing and coordinating the early computer operations and LAN management for New York City to providing city government oversight. Mr. Concannon is the recipient of over 17 NYPD awards and commendations and has vast experience in both external and internal investigations.
Mr. Concannon was appointed by Mayor Rudolph Giuliani to the position of Deputy Director in the Mayor's Office of Operations. There, he served as Chief Analyst for public safety issues, conducting oversight of seven public safety operations and working directly with the Office of Management and Budget. During his tenure in the Mayor's office Mr. Concannon prepared the public safety section of the Mayor's Management Report and was chiefly responsible for creating and providing analysis for Emergency Management Operations. He also served as Chair of the Local Emergency Planning Committee and Mayor's Office Emergency Response protocol.
Mr. Concannon has also held a position with a U.S. Government Agency contractor as a background security clearance investigator. Mr. Concannon was responsible for investigating individuals applying for government clearances while maintaining two agency credentials.
Mr. Concannon was previously a professor at the State University at Farmingdale, NY where he taught technology courses covering topics from malware to information security management. While at Farmingdale University Mr. Concannon was published in the Journal of Information Security.
Mr. Concannon holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Government and Public Administration from the John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York.
